Madison Davis

Dec. 3, 2019 -- Madison Davis involved herself in multiple clubs and organizations while attending Wichita State. She took advantage of the different hands-on learning experiences and internships offered, which helped her grasp the concepts being taught. In January, she plans on attending graduate school and work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.

Nov. 11, 2019 -- Richard Martin was only 18 years old when he was drafted into the Army Air Corps. Now he’s 94 years old and the last living member of his squadron. On Wednesday, Nov. 6, the students of WSU 102 “Innovations of WWII” met him in the Ablah Library C-Space.

Nov. 7, 2019 -  Levi Lowe, a senior majoring in applied computing and psychology is a first generation student who works 40 hours a week. Lowe works to pay for school on his own but was awarded a scholarship to help make ends meet.

Nov. 5, 2019 – The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at Wichita State is hosting the first Pediatric Feeding group to help picky eaters and problem feeders.

Nov. 4, 2019 - Eric Harrison is a jack of all trades and has many talents. After dabbling in construction work, being a mason and making stained glass artwork, he realized he was missing an education. For Eric, coming back to school at the age of 66 is the best thing he has done. Currently, he is getting his degree in philosophy and minors in English and psychology.

Star Billingsley

Oct. 31, 2019 - Star Billingsley, a sophomore studying pre-law psychology, is the recipient of a scholarship that provides aid during the academic year. Star works as an RA, founded the Black Academic Honor Society on campus and works at the Career Development center. Star relies on financial aid and her income to pay for college.

Oct. 28, 2019 - Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with business students on Friday to talk about leadership, integrity and service. He also met with Wichita State's men's basketball team at Charles Koch Arena.

Oct. 18, 2019 - Four Wichita State students are studying variable stars. One of their earliest tasks was to choose a variable star, from hundreds of possibilities, to study. The students follow the process that a scientist follows in constructing, analyzing, interpreting, writing and publishing their work. The project is designed to give the students “an experience of the essence of the scientific endeavor while contributing to the actual scientific literature.”

Oct. 14, 2019 - River Vista Boathouse is one-year-old and Wichita State rowing is enjoying benefits of its new home with current students and recruits.

Oct. 1, 2019 - Jennifer Raymo, a Wichita State student earning her graduate degree in social work, recently became the Wichita Chapter director of The Healing Chair. The non-profit is a Kansas City based organization aimed at helping breast cancer and mastectomy survivors find comfort, hope and healing.

Memorial '70 monument

Sept. 27, 2019 -- The annual ceremony of remembrance for those who died in the 1970 Wichita State University plane crash will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at WSU’s Memorial '70, located near the 18th Street and Hillside entrance to the university.

WSU Libraries donor Mike Smith recently received a special lifetime achievement award from the National Weather Association for nearly 50 years of creative and innovative service in the field of meteorology.

Sept. 20, 2019 -- The Wichita State University Library Special Collection and University Archives has received a large gift of scientific documents and artifacts from accomplished meteorologist Mike Smith.
